PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

Your skin's own biology, amplified.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a regenerative skin treatment that uses the growth factors naturally present in your own blood to stimulate collagen production, accelerate tissue repair, and improve skin quality from within. Nothing synthetic. Nothing foreign. Just your body's own healing intelligence, concentrated and delivered where your skin needs it most.

How it works

A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to a standard blood test. The sample is placed into a centrifuge, which spins it at a precise speed to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood components. This concentrated PRP, packed with growth factors, is then delivered into the skin via fine injections or in combination with SkinPen® Microneedling for deeper absorption. Once in the dermis, the growth factors stimulate fibroblast activity, accelerate collagen and elastin production, and support natural tissue regeneration over time.

Who is it for?

  • Fine lines and crepey skin texture
  • Dull, ageing, or depleted-looking skin
  • Acne scarring and post-inflammatory skin damage
  • Under-eye thinning and hollowness
  • Skin laxity and loss of firmness
  • Uneven skin tone and overall skin quality
  • General skin health and longevity maintenance

PRP suits clients who:

  • Want a natural, biologically-driven approach to skin rejuvenation
  • Are dealing with fine lines, crepey skin, or early signs of structural ageing
  • Have acne scarring or post-inflammatory skin damage
  • Want to improve skin quality in delicate areas like under the eyes
  • Prefer a treatment with no synthetic ingredients, PRP uses only your own blood
  • Are looking for progressive, natural-looking results that build over time
  • Want to complement existing skin or injectable treatments with a regenerative layer

Who is it not for?

PRP is not suitable for clients who:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have certain blood disorders or clotting conditions
  • Are on anticoagulant medications
  • Have active skin infections, cold sores, or open wounds in the treatment area
  • Have very low platelet counts or certain haematological conditions
  • Have active cancer or are undergoing chemotherapy

Suitability is always confirmed at consultation. A full medical history is taken before any PRP treatment is performed.

What to expect from the treatment

Your appointment begins with a consultation and skin assessment. A small blood draw is taken — the same as a standard pathology test. The sample is processed in the centrifuge while Brittni prepares your skin. A topical numbing cream is applied for comfort before the PRP is delivered via fine injections into the treatment area, or combined with SkinPen® Microneedling for enhanced dermal absorption.

Mild redness, swelling, and small injection marks are normal post-treatment and typically resolve within 24–48 hours. Some clients experience light bruising depending on the area treated. Full aftercare instructions are provided before you leave.

Sessions + results

PRP results are progressive, not immediate. Most clients notice improved skin glow and texture within 2–4 weeks of their first session, with continued collagen development over 6–12 weeks. Optimal results are achieved over a course of 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 6–12 months. Brittni will design a personalised plan based on your skin assessment and goals.

PRP + SkinPen® Microneedling

PRP and SkinPen® Microneedling are a powerful combination. The micro-channels created by needling allow the PRP to penetrate deeply into the dermis, significantly enhancing absorption and amplifying the regenerative effect of both treatments. It is one of the most effective ways to address scarring, texture, and overall skin quality simultaneously.

FAQs

Is PRP safe? Yes. Because PRP is derived entirely from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is extremely low. It is one of the most biocompatible treatments available. As with any injectable treatment, a full medical consultation is required to assess your individual suitability.

Does it hurt? The blood draw is the same as a standard blood test, most clients barely notice it. A topical numbing cream is applied before the injections, and most clients find the treatment very manageable.

How many sessions do I need? A course of 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is standard. For maintenance, a single session every 6–12 months is typically sufficient. Brittni will advise based on your skin.

When will I see results? Initial improvements in glow and hydration are often noticeable within 2–4 weeks. The full collagen-stimulating effect builds over 6–12 weeks and continues to develop for several months after each session.

Can PRP be combined with other treatments? Yes and it works particularly well alongside SkinPen® Microneedling, LED therapy, and Rejuran. Brittni can design a combined plan that addresses skin quality from multiple angles in the same or sequential sessions.

Is there downtime? Minimal. Mild redness, swelling, and tenderness typically resolve within 24–48 hours. Light bruising is possible depending on the treatment area. Most clients return to normal activities the following day.

How long do results last? Most clients maintain their improvement for 6–12 months with a single maintenance session per year, particularly when PRP is part of a broader skin health plan. Individual results vary based on age, lifestyle, skin condition, and sun exposure.

What's the difference between PRP and Rejuran? Both are regenerative treatments, but they work differently. PRP uses your own growth factors to stimulate repair and collagen production. Rejuran uses polynucleotides (Wild Salmon DNA fragments) to support cellular regeneration and strengthen the skin's structural matrix. They complement each other well and can be used together as part of a comprehensive skin health plan.
